About this Certificate Program

This certificate program presents the most recent information in the evaluation and treatment of shoulder disorders. The program will provide clinicians a detailed overview of the shoulder, including anatomy and biomechanics, common overuse injuries, post-op and conservative management considerations for rotator cuff tears, and labral pathologies. This program will help improve your care of patients, from initial assessment through their rehabilitation process.

Goals & objectives

• Understand the relevant anatomy and biomechanics of common shoulder overuse injuries, including thoracic outlet syndrome, biceps tendinopathy, suprascapular neuropathy, and subacromial impingement

• Understand the mechanism of injury, common clinical presentation, and operative procedures to implement the most appropriate post-op guidelines and rehabilitation protocols following SLAP lesions, rotator cuff tears, and Bankart repairs

• Evaluate and examine a patient with a possible rotator cuff pathology, and discuss the different repair techniques from an evidence-based perspective

• Design and implement an effective rehabilitation program based on clinical and scientific research for common overuse injuries and post-op shoulder conditions
